There are several advantages to an ebook. First, you can have instant access, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since we have readers on every continent and in many countries, having access anywhere in the world at any time is very convenient. Second, eBooks let the writer maintain full control over the content. There is no editor or publisher with an agenda to change the content. You are reading what the writer intended to say. What do I need to have to use an ebook?
We use two formats for our ebooks. The first is the PDF format. This format is opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free piece of software that resides on most computers already (if your computer does not have Acrobat, you can download it free by clicking HERE ). The second format is a freestanding file that combines the ebook and reader together. No additional software is needed.
We think PDF is the better format, but if you don?t have the reader and don?t want the trouble of installing software, the alternate format is available. Also, AOL subscribers sometimes report problems with downloading PDF?s, so the alternate format solves that problem.
Any printer that works with your computer will work with either program.
